Cory Hiltz is a 2018 LHP with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Westfield, NJ who attends Westfield High School. Large, athletic frame with a lean projectable build and room to fill out with additional strength moving forward. Primary lefthanded pitcher, compact and smooth delivery with few moving parts, repeats it well and stays on line with good direction towards the plate. Works with solid tempo rhythm to delivery, short rock step moving in and incorporates lower half well while working to a tight and high three-quarters arm slot. Nice balance and can work to both sides of the plate, occasionally gets across body at release. Fills up zone early with fastball that topped out at 74 mph with short running life. Pitches to contact and induces it early in count. Curveball shows 2-8 shape with sweeping life, flashes depth when on top of the ball. Arm strength will continue to develop with physical growth.
