2016 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Bryce Charipar is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Xavier HS. Tall and slender athletic build, very projectable physically. Full hands over head delivery, bounces on his back leg over the rubber, lots of variables in his windup, arm works well from an extended 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, more velocity in their in the future, works fastball down in the zone well, mostly straight. Off speed still developing, short twisty slider from a lower release slot, tends to slow arm on change up, threw strikes with secondary pitches as well as fastball. Should keep improving with additional strength and innings. Right handed hitter, spread stance, short swing with quick hands and the ability to pull the ball. Good athlete who runs a 6.97 sixty. Excellent student.
