Daniel Scime is a 2007 C/OF/3B/1B with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Amherst NY, who attends Canisius HS. He as a solid build with good present strength. Scime threw 75 mph during catching drills with a best pop time of 2.06. He has a quick exchange on his throws and a clean, quick release. His footwork and fundamentals behind the plate are sound and he looks like he's a good overall defensive catcher. Scime hits from a balanced stance with a short stride and a tall stance. He takes an aggressive cut at the ball with a line drive swing plane and makes consistent contact using the entire field. Scime is a very good runner for a primary catcher at 7.06 in the 60 and has the physical tools to play other positions besides catching. He is an excellent student off the field.

Daniel Scime is a 2007 C/OF/3B/1B with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Amherst NY, who attends Canisius. Scime has a medium sized frame with a nice build. Defensively, Scime moves around well in the outfield as his straight line 60 speed (7.09) transfers over to his defense. He throws uphill from the outfield and throws with a short arm action. He throws with some effort and has developing arm strength. He moves well behind the plate and is a good receiver. He has defensive versitility as he can play multiple positions. At the plate, Scime starts with a wide base with busy hands. He uses a no load approach and doesn't take a stride in his swing. Scime has strength in his swing with good raw power. He has present power with more power potential in there as he learns to swing with more leverage. Scime is an outstanding student.
