Christian Kinsley is a 2018 SS/3B with a 5-10 168 lb. frame from Coplay, PA who attends Parkland HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.53 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Works through ball well with clean glove actions while maintaining momentum to the bag. Good range to each side with the ability to throw while on the run. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot that generated on line carry with developing accuracy to the bag, topped at 79 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Linear lower half to contact that produced solid shift. Simple, compact path to contact with a naturally leverage plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field while swinging with intent. Also pitched showed a high energy, leg lift delivery. Compact arm swing and separation and flashed good arm speed through finish from a high three-quarters arm slot. Creates some deception at times at release with slight cross body finish. Fastball stays fairly straight with some downhill life through the zone, topped at 83 miles per hour. Slider has tight shape with good sweep to glove side. Also flashed a changeup in the mid 70's. Is a primary shortstop but shows good promise on the mound. Outstanding student.
