Tyler Littlefield is a 2017 SS/2B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Long Beach, CA who attends St John Bosco. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Shows beginnings of present stength throughout frame. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.30 sixty yard dash. Primary shortstop with active, athletic footwork while surrounding the baseball. Solid range to both sides, flashed extended range to glove hand side. Clean glove actions while working through the baseball with smooth exchanges through transition. Gets rid of the baseball quickly and cleanly. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot topping at 78 mph. Created good carry across the infields with solid accuracy to the bag. Right handed hitter with a tall, narrow stance and quiet leg lift trigger. Lower half launches to contact with linear actions creating good shift. Clears hips through the zone well allowing for bat head to get on plane early. Direct path to contact while extending through the baseball with a line drive plane. Primarily used a mid-field approach, but showed good strength and bat speed when working the baseball to the pull side gap. Controlled the barrel well throughout the zone, working to all fields. Fundamental sound at the plate and defensively. Tools will continue to develop with continued physical maturity and repetition. Very good student as well.
