Grant Ketchel is a 2017 LHP/1B with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Tulsa, OK who attends Jenks HS. Ketchel has a medium sized frame with a lean build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. Ketchel uses an inline delivery and is directional to the plate. He gets good hip tilt in his delivery and he pitches with some effort. Ketchel pulls his frontside through and has some head jerk. He doesn't always get his backside through and can get more extension. Ketchel gets some sink on his fastball and located it pretty well. His best pitch on the day was a deceptive change up with good sink and deception. Ketchel also threw a 1/7 curveball with some depth. He's a 3 pitches for strikes lefty with pitchability. Defensively he made online throws and showed developing 1B actions. At the plate Ketchel starts with a bent knee stance and busy hands. He takes a hack and made line drive contact to the pull side. Excellent student.
