Mason Mota is a 2016 OF/2B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Lakewood, CA who attends Lakewood. Mota has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he showed developing quickness in his outfield actions and throws with a shorter arm action. Mota has arm strength up to 78 MPH and he throws with some effort. At the plate, Mota starts with a narrow base and a tall stance. He has a coil at load and gets good hip torque through his swing. Mota has good bat speed and he has some pop in there. He has a good approach at the plate that should produce a lot of gap to gap contact. There's more power potential in there with added strength gains. Good student.
