Tyler Johnson is a 2018 OF/SS/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Pfafftown, NC who attends Reagan HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength with more to come. Right handed hitter, loads with very deep hands, front half fires early, long and extended swing with good bat speed, pull approach, can shorten up and maintain his bat speed. 7.03 runner, compact arm action, has some arm strength that will continue to improve as he polishes his footwork. Also pitched, same compact arm action, has a smooth release out front from a high 3/4's arm slot, works from the stretch with good lower half use. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, cuts some cutting action on it at times. Curveball shows good depth and he has some feel for it. Good student.
