David Franko is a 2016 IF/OF with a 6-0 172 lb. frame from Ellicott City, MD who attends Marriotts Ridge HS. Medium-large frame with very athletic frame; body projects very well moving forward still. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.30 seconds. Sets up to hit with open stance and high back elbow, toe tap timing mechanism into quick swing. Shows ability to turn on inside heat with effectiveness, highlighting the quickness of his hands. Clean bat path to and through the zone, line drive plane, has strength in swing with developing power to all fields. Shows good ability to bend at the waist in the infield, surrounding the ball well and fielding low to ground. Good, clean hand actions at the ball, both to forehand and backhand, transfers cleanly and gets rid of the ball on time. Was consistently accurate across the diamond to 1st base, with velocity clocked up to 78 MPH. Good student.
