Jordan Powell is a 2017 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Celebration, FL who attends TNXL Academy. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong, mature build and present strength throughout. Primary righthanded pitcher, worked out of both the stretch and windup throughout, will change tempo and looks on mound regularly, drives down the mound and lands slightly open with strike foot. Fuller arm stroke with nice arm speed through the back getting to an extended three-quarters slot. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, would occasionally jump off backside similar to what Carter Capps would do and touched 88-89 with that approach, maintained velocity well throughout. Showed a curveball at 74 mph with 11-5 shape, tightest spin and best shape when locating to glove side. Harder version showed true slider shape and life at 77 mph. Good student.
