Nolan Takeya is a 2016 C/RHP/3B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Lynwood, WA who attends Mountlake Terrace HS. Smaller frame with a thicker build and some present strength. At the plate shows a slightly open stance with balance throughout. Shows plus barrel control with a compact, line drive swing path to contact. Stays on contact well with a mid-field approach and ability to square to all fields. Overall advanced approach and maturity at the plate. Worked out defensively from behind the plate. Shows an even, balanced set with a heel click lower half that generates explosive on line direction on throws to second. Quick arm circle and release that produces accurate throws with some carry, topped at 71 mph. Best pop 2.10. Shows soft hands while receiving. On the mound shows a fast paced, hands over head delivery that produces good downhill direction. Generates a full arm circle on seperation with some arm whip on release. Fastball has arm side life ranging from 76-79 mph, topped at 80 mph. Will drop arm angle at time to a low 3/4 slot that produces more arm side run. Changeup was primary off speed pitch with big sinking life, topped at 70 mph. Flashed a rare curveball with slow, rolling actions topping at 63 mph. Good student as well.
