Andre Curtiss is a 2017 C/MIF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Hillsboro, OR who attends Sunset HS. Medium, athletic frame with solid build. Right handed hitter with an open stance and a deep hand load. Linear lower half actions with an extended stride to contact. Shows a compact line drive swing path with bat speed and stength when front half is down and on time. Uses a mid-field, pull side approach. Shows the willingness and ability to make adjustments at the plate. Aggresive hitter early in counts with best swings on pitches middle-in. Worked out defensively from behind the plate and infield. Behind the plate shows fundamental footwork with a quick arm cirlce and release topping at 72 mph. Tends to throw uphill off the back side with a shorter arm action through extension, best pop time 2.06. From the infield shows a quick exchange and accurate release topping at 76 mph. Has soft hands with smooth funneling actions while surrounding the baseball. Shows a quick first step while taking efficent routes to the baseball.
