Corey Chaplin is a 2017 2B/SS with a 5-6 135 lb. frame from Issaquah, WA who attends Issaquah HS. Medium frame with athletic, slender present build and good projectable room for growth. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.63 seconds. Hits with impressive hand-eye coordination and overall bat-to-ball skills. Simple overall approach and hitting mechanics, shows quick hands to and through the zone, controls the barrel well, and makes solid contact to all fields on balls all over the zone. Line drive approach and overall contact. Ability to use entire field. Worked out defensively in the infield, showing good range to both sides with soft hands and fielding actions. Transfers well and releases quickly. Infield velocity topped at 72 MPH.
