Jacob Padilla is a 2016 C with a 6-0 220 lb. frame from Wylie, TX who attends Wylie East. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout build. Ran a 7.41 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, starts with a lower set behind the plate, very short and compact arm action and shows some strength out of hand, quick transfer, shows accuracy on throws down to second base. Squares shoulders well to balls in the dirt and blocks well. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a slightly open stance, high hand set with high back elbow. Upper body swing, line drive swing plane with a patient approach. Longer swing but gets barrel to ball and shows nice carry to pull side. Looks to use the middle and pull side parts of field, nice jump coming off when squared. Very good student.
