Scott Ziegler is a 2017 2B/SS, RHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Simsbury, CT who attends Avon Old Farms. Medium frame with slender, athletic build throughout body and good remaining projection. Ran well, posting a 7.02 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from slightly wrapped start with high back elbow, toe tap trigger, line drive swing plane that is quick to the ball, shifts weight into contact well, uses whole field and makes consistent line drive contact. Spray liner hitter right now with more power coming. Showed quick feet defensively, moving to the ball well and fielding cleanly, good quick-twitch range to both sides, transfers cleanly and gets rid of the ball quickly, throws across the diamond topped at 70 MPH. Pitched as well, throws from low 3/4 arm slot with smooth, repeatable delivery; shows balance throughout, generates good extension, throws consistent strikes with FB that worked 70-72. Showed CB as well in low 60's, good sweeping shape that runs away from RHH, did good job mixing and match FB and CB. Very good student.
