Ethan South is a 2016 OF/UT with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Danielsville, GA who attends Madison County. Compact frame with athletic build, has broad shoulders and some present strength but there is still some room to fill out and physical projection remaining within the body's framework. Worked out in the outfield in defensive drills. Developing arm strength, athleticism is noticeable, still can be a bit too tentative when approaching the ball, but flashes tools necessary to be a quality defensive outfielder. Right handed hitter, hand drop trigger with medium leg lift timing mechanism. Pull-oriented approach, has some natural lift in swing plane and shows some juice when he gets the barrel to the ball. Patient hitter, can work the counts, can be a tough out for opposing pitchers. Very good student.
