Gavin Buda is a 2018 SS/2B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Greenlawn, NY who attends Harborfields. Medium-large frame with long, lean build at present and good projection remaining on body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.27 seconds. Sets up to hit with slightly closed off stance high back elbow, big leg lift trigger, swings hard and brings the barrel through, shows some jump off the barrel to the opposite field, likes to see the ball deep, has projection for solid power at maturity. Inside-out swing path, can turn the barrel when necessary. Worked out defensively in the infield. Short, choppy steps to the ball with solid balance, fields out front with soft hands, transfer is quick and clean, gets off quick release across the diamond and demonstrates ability to throw from multiple arm slots. Clocked up to 74 MPH across the infield. Good student.
