Nick Prainito is a 2017 SS/3B, 2B with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Menlo Park, CA who attends Menlo-Atherton HS. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill out. Very good runner, posted a 6.72 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet to the ball and looked good charging in, plays low through the ball, comes out clean and easy from a short arm action, gets on top of throws well, longer release. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide and open base and a high hand set set. Gets closed with lower half after toe tap trigger. Long swing through the zone, keeps hands in through swing and creates contact to the middle of the field. Shows a nice two-strike approach in the box, occasionally gets to front side early, shows rhythm. Very good student.
