2015 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Jay Golliday is a 2016 C/OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Kill Devil Hills, NC who attends First Flight. Medium, athletic frame with lean present build and very good projection remaining on frame. Ran very well, posting a 6.74 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from medium-base stance with high hand set, quick toe tap trigger, very quick twitch overall hitting mechanics, line drive swing plane with excellent hands to and through the zone. Strong hands and forearms, able to generate backspin on ball and work gap to gap, projectable overall hitting and power tools. Worked out defensively behind the plate, and performed very well there. Shows quick feet throughout mechanics with lateral agility, gains ground well out of crouch with explosive lower half, high end receiving skills, very good arm strength and accuracy, C velocity topped at 79 MPH and popped as low as 1.83 seconds. Named to 2015 Atlantic Coast Top Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
