Jack Sheehy is a 2017 C/1B, RHP with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Blauvelt, NY who attends Tappan Zee High School. Extra-large, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout body. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front and shows quickness to arm action on throws down to second base, solid carry out of the hand, mostly upper body at release and projects with addtional lower half, upright release. Full arm action on throws from first base, tight release point and gets on top of throws, can throw from multiple slots, soft hands fielding the ball out front, moves well off the bag. Also pitched, works exclusively out of the stretch, leg lift up past belt with a loose and full arm action coming through the back, gets to a three-quarters release point. Quick arm and generates extension out front, delivery tempo to delivery, gets on top of fastball that topped 82 mph and featured short running life down in the zone. Maintains arm speed well on changeup, drops release point slightly but shows fading life. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an upright stance and an open base, gets closed with stride into contact. Pulls hands back at start, easy swing path and incorporates physical strength well, ball jumps off the barrel hard when on time. Generates loft to pull side, ball comes off the barrel clean with natural lift to swing plane. Projectable power potential. Very good student.
