Alec Lush is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Shepherdsville, KY who attends North Bullitt. Medium frame with a compact, athletic build. Frame projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.09 sixty yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher, creates good separation at take back and uses lower half to drive downhill to the plate. Releases fastball from a high three-quarters slot that has occasional arm side life topping at 81 mph. Curveball has 1/7 shape with tights spin and solid depth. Generates good downhill plane and sharper break on off speed when working over front side at release. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing two hand pick ups while funneling the baseball out front. Closes to baseball with smooth athletic actions. Clean glove to hand exchanges with working through transfer. Releases with an uphill arm stroke topping at 83 mph. Throws produced good on line carry to the bag. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high hand set. Lower half launches with linear actions creating good shift into contact. Stays behind contact well while hitting off a strong front side. Hands fire on a compact path to contact creating a line drive plane through extension. Shows present bat speed and pop to the gaps that produces good carry. Controls barrel path well and flashed hard contact to all fields in batting practice as well as game play. Will continue to develop with physical maturity. Good student as well.
