2016 Pitcher Catcher Showcase
Michael Rediger is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Davenport, IA who attends Central HS. Tall, lean frame with plenty of room for additional strength and size. On the mound shows a back turn delivery with slight lean. Tends to land at a slightly closed position with a medium arm circle. Development of balanced, downhill lower half mechanics should develop additional velocity. Shows a 3/4 arm slot on fastball that has occasional 2-seam run with sink. Good command of both curveball and changeup down in the zone. Tends to locate off speed pitches arm side, development of glove side command on off speeds pitches will result in more swing and miss potential. Right handed hitter with a wide, straight stance. Shows a higher hand/ elbow set with a leg lift trigger. Tends to crouch into load and change eye level at times. Extended swing path that generates some natural lift and good bat speed. Mid-field approach with ability to barrel up pitches down in the zone during BP.
