2015 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase
J.P. Knight is a 2016 SS/3B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from South Boston, MA who attends Roxbury Latin. Large, atheltic build with a long limbs and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill out. Ran a 6.97 60-yard dash. Primary middle fielder, sound athletic actions with nice footwork and range to either side, tight and quick arm action, taller at release, accurate across the diamond with present strength, hands plays at the ball with soft actions, gets it out of glove quickly. Right-handed hitter, starts with a slightly open and upright stance with medium hand set. Uses a pull approach in the box and shows a feel for the barrel through the zone. Some wrap to barrel at top of swing, shows strength and jump when squared with a good finish, has quick hands to get to inner half pitch. Named to Northeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
