Mitchell Lehman is a 2008 C/P/3B from Flower Mound in Flower Mound, TX, with a 5'8'', 165 lb. frame. He has compact features and good present strength. Lehman stood out defensively. He has very quick, short actions behind the plate and very good arm strength for his age. His best pop time was 1.98 and he looked quicker than that. He shifted quickly and received the ball well. Lehman hits out of an open stance with some knee flex and a deep hand hitch loading action. He has very good hand strength and nice bat speed with a short bat path to the ball. Lehman has some lift in his swing and is looking to pull the ball. The ball jumped really well a couple of times and Lehman showed his pop and home run potential. He'll need some work on pitches on the outside part of the plate but Lehman can jump on the inside stuff and drive it with authority. He's a good looking young hitter. Lehman also pitched a bit and showed a 78 mph fastball and smooth pitching mechanics, along with a big breaking 64 mph curveball. Lehman is a very good looking young catching prospect with prospect tools both offensively and defensively. He is also a good student.
