Mason Carrier is a 2018 C/RHP/3B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Canton, GA who attends Sequoyah HS. Big and strong athletic build. 7.45 runner, receives the ball well behind the plate with strong hands, gains ground throwing but footwork not consistent yet, 2.08 best pop time. Also plays infield and looked solid as a third baseman with good carry on his throws. Right handed hitter, open stance with a hard close, gets out on his front side and dives into contact, inside hand path with an opposite field approach, flashed his power potential when he got the barrel out in front, has the tools to improve with adjustments. Also pitched, uses his strong lower half well in his mechanics, compact arm action with a high 3/4's arm slot, gets extended well out front, low effort release. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with nice sink and arm side run, threw strikes with his fastball. Primary fastball pitcher, will occasionally throw a big soft curveball with reduced arm speed.
