Joe Heisel is a 2016 RHP/3B/1B with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Frisco HS. Extra-large, athletic build with long limbs and broad shoulders with strength throughout frame. Primary right-handed pitcher, shorter arm action coming through the back side with a mid three-quarter arm slot at release. Ball comes out cleanly from hand, works ahead in the count and showed ability to fill up the strike zone. Fastball topped at 80 mph, creates deception at release. Nice feel for off speed, curveball showed 12-6 shape, short depth and flashed changeup at 70 mph. Showed ability to miss bats. Deep arm action from the outfield, accurate throws to the bag. Showed ability to make accurate throws in infield from multiple arm slot, fields with a wide base and shows some strength across. Right-handed hitter, starts with a toe tap trigger for timing, patient approach in the box. Strong lower half and incorporates, short path to the ball with line drive swing plane. Generates extension out front showing strength off barrel, consistent contact to middle and pull side parts of field. Very good student.
