Sean Howard is a 2008 3B/P from Mitchell High School in Trinity, FL, with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame. Howard is a young two-way prospect with a good build. Defensively he has a long arm action on his throws across the diamond, and has good footwork and reactions to handle the hot corner. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who uses a no load approach. Howard takes an aggressive swing and shows good bat speed with a line drive swing plane. He makes solid contact and drives the ball from gap to gap. Howard stays behind the ball well and stays balanced throughout his swing with good leverage at contact. He has the hitting tools to hit well at the next level. Howard also pitched at the event, and threw his fastball at 77 mph with tailing action away from right handed hitters. He also mixed in a curveball at 68 mph with an 11 to 5 break. Howard's bat needs to be followed, and he is a good student as well.
