LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2005 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Myers Hendrickson is a 5-11, 170 lb junior shortstop from Illinois He didn't run the 60 at the showcase but showed good speed on the bases and some mobility in the field defensively. Hendrickson had good middle infield actions and moved to the ball well. He had solid arm strength for a young junior at 78 mph during drills and made the plays during the games. He projects well defensively and should stand out the next two years at the high school level with his glove and fielding ability. Offensively, Hendrickson hits from a no stride approach with little lower half or core involvement. He has a short, downward swing plane and is looking to hit the ball where it's pitched. More strength, especially in his hands, and more rhythm to the ball will help him immediately as a hitter. Until then, his defense will carry him. Hendrickson is an excellent student off the field.
