Travis Evgen is a 2009 C/3B/1B with a 5'9'', 178 lb. frame from Forest Lake, MN, who attends Forest Lake High School. Evgen was the youngest player at the event, but he still should good tools for his age. Behind the plate he has good hands that enabled him to handle some top level pitchers. He also blocked balls in the dirt well showing lateral quickness. He has solid arm strength. At the plate he is a switch hitter who is currently slightly better from the right side, which is his natural side. Evgen has solid bat speed through the hitting zone with a line drive swing plane. He is a balanced hitter that turns well on the inside pitch. Evgen has the same approach from both sides of the plate, he just makes more consistent contact from the right side. He is a developing player with a solid set of tools currently. He is also a very good student.
