Rossi is an "04" Middle infielder who get better every time we see him. It's no wonder because he was one of the best students and best workers we had at an indoor clinic last winter. At 5'10/160 he is athletic, strong with lots of room for added strength. He runs very well and has a nice arm that probably projects at 2B at the next level. He has quick feet, good hands and is fundamentally sound in the field. At the plate he is really coming on. He has a beautiful swing with nice quick loose hands. He smoked a few in Wareham and even surprised us with some power. He's going to be a very good player and hitter, with a great attitude and work ethic. He's going to just keep getting better and better. Brett is a top student as well.

Rossi is a quick player with good actions for second base and a good approach to the game. He ran a sub 7.0 60 but plays even a step quicker in the field and on the bases. His arm stroke and arm strength are better suited to second base than the other side of the base. Rossi pulled the ball hard in batting practice but shortened up his stroke well in game competition and moved the ball around the field. He's got nice hands and athletic ability. Brett is also a top line student. He's going to play at the next level!

Rossi is a Junior infielder from New Jersey who showed all kinds of ability with his glove and with his bat. He showed good athleticism immediately when he ran a laser timed 7.1 seconds in the 60. He carried that over with good defensive actions fielding ground balls. His glove showed at a high level and he looked very good on his double play turns and feeds. At one point his feeds to the shortstop became a clinic for others to learn by. By the end of the weekend Rossi showed an all around defensive package with only his arm strength as below average registering low 70's velocity across the diamond. He left the camp displaying good range, good hands, excellent ability at making a play on the run and looked the part of a solid College infielder. With the bat Rossi also showed some excellent promise. He has a good swing showing good bat-speed and smooth hitting actions. His swing is tension free and he gets a lot out of his body. At times his swing looked a little long but it moves through the zone quickly enough to be very productive. He showed a good turn and good extension with a nice strong finish.. He is a good hitter and worked all weekend on his form to further enhance his swing plane, bottom hand control and opposite field swing. We like the way he plays the game and think he will be a good one in College. He is an athletic infielder with strong make-up, good tools and a lot of baseball ability. He only needs to improve his arm strength and he will be a top level prospect.. He is academically strong as well, which does not surprise us at all. He could become a highly recruited player in the Ivy-League or other highly regarded academic institution.
