Desmond Watkins is a 2020 OF/ with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Bloomfield, NJ who attends St. Peter's Preparatory. Primary outfielder with a medium frame and athletic build. Moves well in the outfield and on the basepaths with a good first step, running a 7.14 second sixty-yard dash. Works through the ball well in the outfield with quick and athletic movements to go along with a big gather and crow hop to throws. Some present arm speed and strength with throws up to 84 miles per hour. Makes accurate throws to bases, staying on target with good direction. Slightly open and upright stance from the right side of the plate, with a leg lift trigger and high hand set. Shows some present bat speed and a direct path to the ball. Has a slightly lifted barrel plane, swing and fluid swing with intent to drive the baseball. Shows a good motor in game action, stealing hits in the outfield and looking to take the extra base on offense. Named to 2019 Sunshine Midwest Showcase, Top Prospect List.
