Jake Barbiere is a 2017 2B/OF, SS, 3B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Randolph, NJ who attends Randolph. Medium, athletic build with a young and lean projectable frame, room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, works to and through the ball well, hands play and picks the backhand well, good carry on throws from a lower slot with arm strength that will continue to develop. Right-handed hitter, starts wit ha closed stance and lower hand set. Upper body swing, quick bat path to the ball with line drive swing plane. Patient approach, shows a nice feel for the barrel with consistent contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field, no problem squaring upper-80s fastballs in game. Shows bat speed in swing, projects with incorporation of lower half in swing. Very good student.
