Justin Jeffers is a 5'7" 140 pound 2007 catcher who can play anywhere as well as pitch. He is from Chesapeake, Virginia and attends Great Bridge High School. Justin plays much bigger than his size and looked like he was best suited behind the plate. He is a very versatile player who has good speed which he showed by running a 7.49 60 and a 4.28 down the line. During the workout, he threw 75 mph across the infield and from behind the plate he matched that with a 2.02 pop time. He has good arm strength and good quickness behind the plate where he likes to keep runners close on the bases with his accurate quick throws. He also blocks balls in the dirt very well. Jeffers shows good bat speed and power for his size. He seems to have a good idea on how to hit. Justin also pitched at this event. His fastball topped out at 81 mph with his curveball at 63 mph and his change up at 66 mph. He was named to the Top Prospect game and should be a must follow especially because of his versatility.
