Daniel Astrop is a 6' 175 pound 2007 catcher who attends Deep Run High School in Richmond, Virginia. He is a good defensive catcher who has a pop time of 2.08 and a top velocity of 74 mph. He also has decent speed for a catcher running a 7.2 60 during the workout. Daniel is a good athlete who can also play outfield as a secondary position. Offensively, Astrop has some good bat speed and above average skills. With his good hand strength, he will develop more power in his swing as he gets more polished. Daniel is definitely a next level prospect who is also an amazing student with a 4.7 gpa.
