Ben Kahlich is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Dallas, TX who attends Pearce HS. Medium athletic build, has the beginnings of some present strength with more to come. Right handed hitter, busy hand load, swings hard and looks to drive the ball, busy pre-swing movement causes timing issues occasional, uphill swing path and looks to pull the ball, has hitting tools to develop with additional strength and some adjustments. 7.26 runner, compact arm action in the outfield, moves to the ball well in the outfield but tends to slow his momentum when throwing, developing arm strength. Also pitched, busy high leg delivery, similar mechanics to his hitting approach, high 3/4's arm slot. Mid-70's fastball, velocity kept increasing as his confidence increased, showed good command of a soft curveball, competed well. Good student.
