Jordan Stennett is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from West Orange, NJ who attends West Orange High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes long strides moving towards the ball with efficient routes, fields it cleanly out front, short arm action through the back working to a three-quarters arm slot, shows arm strength and up to 86 mph with best throw, some effort at release, projects for addtional arm strength with incorporation of lower half. Also pitched, begins with a leg lift up past belt, coils at top before striding towards the plate, lands slightly open with plant foot. Fuller arm action through the back with a high three-quarters release point, creates angle to fastball when on top and topped out at 83 mph, gets extended out front. Fastball comes out clean, shows short lift down in the zone, feel for an 11-5 shaped curveball with short depth at 69 mph, induced ground ball contact. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide stance in the box and a medium hand set. Loads hands well moving into swing, stays short and direct to the ball with quickness to both the hands and barrel. Uncoils well into contact and shows ability to repeat swing. Occasionally gets to front side early, creates backspin to pull side when on time with swing, shows strength off the barrel when squared up. Very good student.
