Matthew Bonvicini is a 2017 1B/3B with a 6-2 245 lb. frame from Torrington, CT who attends Holy Cross. XL frame with strong, sturdy build throughout body. Advanced levels of strength. Hits from taller stance with high back elbow start, gets off backside well and drives back leg, hips remain stationary, swing gets longer at times, mostly fluid swing mechanics, line drive plane, will drift onto front side a bit, obvious strength off the barrel when squared up. Made consistent contact, pull-field approach. Worked out defensively at 1st base. Smooth fielding actions, stays down on ball well and fields cleanly, moves well, pivots cleanly and throws accurately to both 2B and 3B, velocity across IF topped at 71 MPH. Very good student.
