Matthew Hurley is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Old Orchard Beach, ME who attends Old Orchard Beach. Large frame with strong present build; good strength in lower half. Ran 60 yard dash in 8.21 seconds. Primary lefthanded pitcher; drop and drive mechanics into crossfire delivery due to closed off front side. Compact arm stroke to three quarters arm slot, fastball worked 77-79 mph and peaked at 80 with solid sinking life, good command to both sides. Showed curveball with 1/7 shape and good depth; long-breaking slider with sweeping action, also worked in changeup with good deception and sink. Hits from slightly open stance, cocks hands back into load, line drive swing plane with moderate barrel feel, whole-field approach. Took reps at 1st base, solid footwork, throws across clocked up to 78 mph. Good student.
