Preston Schimmel is a 2018 2B/SS with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Allen, TX who attends Allen HS. Has a medium frame, lean build, and room to continue to put on additional muscle. Posted a 6.70 second sixty yard dash From the infield, has footwork moving to the baseball and showed the ability to throw from multiple arm slots. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a slightly open stance, high back elbow, and leg lift trigger. Use a middle of the field approach while swinging on a line drive swing plane. Has a good lower half and generates good lift through the baseball with quality extension. Keeps it simple with contact approach, ball comes well off the barrel. Named to 2016 South Underclass Top Prospect List.
