James West is a 2009 OF/P/1B with a 5'10'', 145 lb. frame from Cape Coral FL, who attends Bishop Verot HS. He has a medium build with some upper body strength. West hits out of a crouched stance and opens up during his swing and pulls off as his upper body rotates through. West had a contact oriented line drive swing and moved the ball around the field. Hitting more aggressively would benefit him. West ran the 60 in 7.61 and threw 70 mph from the outfield. He could improve his outfield arm strength with some mechanical adjustments. West is young and has plenty of time to get stronger and improve.
