Evan Martin is a 2018 OF/LHP with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Manchester, MO who attends Parkway South HS. Medium, athletic frame with a lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Posted a 6.90 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows a full arm action coming through the back with arm strength at release, moves well to the ball, has some effort but ball comes out well. Graded higher in this view as pitcher, short arm action through the back with a tight release and a high three-quarters slot. Compact delivery and pitches to contact, sound mechanics and repeats them well, body stays in sync. Remains balanced, throws strikes and topped out at 78 mph while projecting for more velocity with added strength, shows pitchability and feel for late biting 1-7 shaped curveball. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and has a patient approach at the plate. Wide base, leg lift trigger, shows hand quickness in swing with ability to lift and separate out front when on time. Inside approach with ability to go to the opposite field and shows fluidity to swing. Excellent student.
