Nicholas Tuanchaem is a 2016 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends University HS. Large, athletic frame with long limbs, looseness throughout with projectable frame with room to fill. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, shows a quick arm through the back coming to three-quarter arm slot. Works exclusively from the stretch, high leg raise up past belt, cuts off lands with front leg but works over and creates angle towards the plate. Gets on top and generates downhill plane with running life to fastball at bottom of zone, topped out at 83 mph. Balanced delivery with extension, curveball shows 12-6 shape and has feel for the pitch. Changeup mimics fastball out of hand, has some fading life to arm side. Nice rhythm, steady ground ball contact. Similar arm action from outfield, remains tall at release, shows arm strength and accuracy to the base. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high back elbow and square stance. Small glide with front foot, short path to ball and uses length to create extension, shows carry to all fields and feel to go opposite. Very good student.
