Evan Layne is a 2015 LHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends High School Of Telecommunications. Medium, athletic build with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Primary left-handed pitcher, throws from an extended high three-quarter delivery with a quick arm coming through the back side. Shoulder tilt in delivery with a still hand set, stays on line with lower half, open front side early but does a nice job of getting on top of the ball and repeating delivery. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, leaving the hand easily and working down in the zone with the pitch. Curveball shows 1-7 life with some depth and shows a nice feel for it while flashing a straight changeup at 71 mph. Good student.
