Christian McDowell is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Leesburg, VA who attends Loudoun County. McDowell has a large frame with broad shoulders with room to fill out. Short arm circle in back to a high 3/4 arm slot. Creates good angle to plate with arm slot. Easy arm action with a low effort delivery, has good arm speed through release. Fastball had good life when down in zone and command fastball well. Showed 1/7 curveball with developing spin and depth. Velocity projects with body and arm speed. Hits from a square stance with a high hand set to start. Good extension on swing with feel for barrel. Shows good bat speed with a line drive swing plane and mid to opposite field approach. Defensively, works behind ball well with his actions, has clean transfer and release and works through ball well, has full arm action with good accuracy. Good Student.
