Canyon McWilliams is a 2016 1B/OF, LHP with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Shaker Heights, OH who attends Shaker Hts. Large frame, sturdy athletic build with present strength. Left handed hitter, very narrow set with open stance, aggressive shift to contact. Hand drop trigger, shows aggressive approach and still maintains balance and solid base. Flashes good hand quickness and bat speed, swings hard and has solid feel for the barrel. Solid pullside power potential with natural carry and juice from the barrel. Primary firs baseman, good fielding position and solid transfer. Performed well in the outfield as well, has good arm strength, was up to 86 mph in defensive drills. Also pitches, works to a high 3/4 arm slot, hides the ball pretty well and has solid armspeed. Fastball up to 79 mph, has solid armside run. Also flashed feel for curveball with 1/7 shape and depth, and a changeup in the low-70 with fading action. Named to the Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List. Outstanding student.
