Jack Berczi is a 2016 LHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Oakville, ON who attends Abbey Park. Extra-large, athletic build with broad shoulders and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill throughout frame. Primary left-handed pitcher, works from a low three-quarter arm slot with a quick arm and a tight release adding deception and difficulty to release. Stays tall on backside with slight hip turn, balanced through delivery and lands online. Works fastball down in the zone and generates running life from slot. Fastball topped at 86 mph, heavy life and showed ability to get to either side. Especially difficult at-bat against left-handed hitters. Projects well with continued incorporation of lower half into delivery. Curveball showed 1-7 shape with some depth and sweeping life. Arm to watch moving forward. Named to Northeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
