2017 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Jacob Bockenstedt is a 2018 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends George Washington. Medium frame with a long, lean build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.06 sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a quick paced high leg lift delivery. Showed a long, loose arm action action from a high three-quarters slot that produced heavy running action to arm side, topped at 88 miles per hour. Curveball and slider flashed good tight rotation with late break when finish pitch out front. Also flashed a changeup with good arm speed and late fading late in the upper 70's. Attacked hitters with each pitched and effectively filled the zone throughout each inning of work. Also worked out defensively from the infield, rounds the baseball well prior to funneling out front with clean glove actions. Works through transition cleanly with smooth glove to hand exchanges. Showed good arm strength across the infield produced stiff on line carry. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and toe tap trigger. Lower half works to contact with rotational actions. Direct, compact path to contact with a line drive approach. Stayed behind the baseball well and consistently produced hard contact between the gaps. Excellent student. Named to the 2017 Spring Top Prospect Showcase-Top Prospect List.
