Stephen Bako is a 6-0, 180 lb senior right handed pitcher from Canada. He throws from a high 3/4's release point with some backwards lean of his upper body in his delivery. His arm action is long and loose, especially out front on release. Bako's fastball was mostly 82-83 mph early and he pitched consistently to the outside half of the plate to right handed hitters with his fastball. His best secondary pitch was a 72 mph change up that had very good sink when down and Bako showed a lot of confidence in this pitch. His 69 mph curveball had 12/6 break and could develop into a nice weapon for him as well. Bako tended to work slowly and pick around the corners and might benefit from being more aggressive early in the count. He's a young pitcher with a loose arm who should be able to pick up some more velocity as he gets stronger.

Stephen Bako is a 2006 RHP from Lorne Park Secondary School in Mississauga, ON, with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame. He has a good lean athletic build and should continue to get stronger. Bako's throws from a low effort, tall and fall delivery and a high 3/4's to overhand release point. His pitching mechanics are clean and he repeats them well. Bako threw a 81-84 mph fastball with some life to it and was able to pitch to spots. His curveball was 68 mph with tight 12/6 and good depth. His change up had some deception at 72 mph. Bako has three solid pitches and the consistent mechanics that lets him throw strikes with all three. He's a nice Division I calibur pitching prospect, especially for some Northern Tier school. Bako is also a good student.
