Cameron Alkins is a 2007 RHP with a 6'4'', 210 lb. frame from Bradford ON, who attends Bradford District HS. He has a large athletic frame with wide shoulders and good overall strength. He has an unusual arm action and release that provides lots of deception for the hitters. Alkins has a compact arm action in back that hides the ball and an extended mid 3/4's release point. He lands very open and comes over top of all his pitches. Alkins fastball ranged from 72 to 78 mph and had consistent sinking and running action. Alkins showed good feel for his change up and used it often and for strikes with the same type of movement he had on his fastball. His curveball was difficult to throw with that arm action and had a soft sweeping break at 58-63 mph.

Cameron Alkins is a 6-4, 190 lb senior right handed pitcher from Canada with a nice frame and angular present strength. He throws from a mid 3/4's slinging arm action and comes over the ball in a very pronounced way on release turning the ball over. Alkins delivery is balanced and simple and he repeats it well. His fastball is 79-81 mph with the good running and sinking action that you would expect from that release point. Alkins 68-71 mph change up is his best pitch. He has the same arm action and release point and really gets good late life on the ball down in the zone. Alkins didn't throw a breaking ball and his release point makes that pitch a question mark and one that he'll need to answer to be able to pitch at the next level. Right now he's a severe ground ball pitcher who throws strikes and keeps his infielders busy.

Cameron Alkins is a 2006 RHP from Bradford District HS in Bradford, ON, with a 6'4'', 190 lb. frame. He has a tall and slender frame and a projectable pitcher's build. Alkins has a good balanced delivery and a low 3/4's release point. His delivery is repatable and his arm works smoothly and with minimal effort. Alkins fastball topped out at 80 mph with good arm side run and sink, as you would expect from his release point. His curveball was 68-70 mph with good spin and depth to it and surprisingly good downer plane. Alkins change up was a deceptive pitch at 70 mph, with good arm speed and a consistent release. He has solid secondary pitches and Alkins looks like he should add more velocity as he gets older. He's a good follow for the Northern Tier schools with a good upside.
