Kyle Smith is a 2017 LHP/OF, 1B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Lawrenceville, NJ who attends Notre Dame. Medium frame with quality athletic build throughout body, good physical projection remaining. Primary pitcher, has longer and looser arm action to 3/4 slot, some crossfire in his delivery which adds some deception, consistently threw strikes with both pitches and did a good job keeping opposing hitters off balance. FB worked 70-73 with good control, also showed CB with good depth and quality bite in the upper 50's. Hits from open, upright stance with leg lift trigger, lower hand set, shows consistently good barrel control with ability to match plane, gets the head out, line drive swing plane with good contact skills and some power to the pull field. Showed good footwork and overall athleticism around the bag at 1B, making accurate throws to 2B and 3B consistently. Clean footwork to and through fielding the ball in the OF, gathers well, accurate arm with throws topping at 69 MPH. Good student.
